Anne Arundel County Fire Department officials say house fires Sunday in Gambrills and Millersville caused a total of $425,000 in damage, and displaced five residents. One firefighter was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center in good condition with a medical issue.
The first fire was reported about 7:30 p.m. in the 500 block of White Horse Courtin Millersville. Firefighters found flames coming through the roof of the two-story single family home when they arrived and requested a second alarm. The fire was brought under control in less than 20 minutes.
Two adults were displaced and are being helped by the Red Cross. The cause of the fire, which did an estimated $350,000 damage, is under investigation.
