No one was injured but traffic on and around Kent Island was disrupted for hours Thursday, May 17, when a tractor trailer carrying bananas overturned in the median of U.S. Route 50/301 about 3:15 a.m.
Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department arrived to find the driver out of the truck and sitting on the guardrail, said Fire Chief Buddy Thomas. He told them he was OK.
The driver said he had blacked out and didn't remember what had happened, Thomas said.
He was checked out by county paramedics at the scene; all his vitals were normal, and he refused transportation, Thomas added.
