Fire officials say a men’s shelter in Catsonville had to be evacuated Sunday morning due to a “hazardous gas” leak. Captain Tim Rostkowski says firefighters received a call shortly after 8 a.m. for a medical emergency at the Westside Men’s Homeless Shelter on Redwood Circle. As crews entered the building, meters alerted them of a potentially hazardous gas. Rostkowski says additional crews and the Baltimore County Fire Department’s Hazardous Matirles Team also responded to the scene and confirmed the high levels of hazardous gas. Crews evacuated the 67 residents of the facility, and one was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.
