A 75-year-old woman is dead after being trapped in a house fire in Randallstown. By the time the first units arrived, the house in the 9800 block of Winands Rd. was engulfed in flames: “When they arrived, they did find that the fire was fully involved, and unfortunately we do have a fatality,” said Baltimore Co. Fire Department spokeswoman Elise Armacost. Fire officials identified the woman killed as 75-year old Lana Miller. She was alone in the house when the fire broke out shortly after 8 a.m. “We heard a big explosion and it shook the house,” neighbor Bruce Thornton said. “When we came out, we saw the flames shooting out through the roof.” “We’re aware there’s reports of explosion. We can’t confirm there was an explosion. That will be something that the police investigators look at as they explore what caused this fire,” Armacost said. Results from the investigation may take days, but the emotional impact was immediate.
