The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the burning of five straw bales that were in Westminster City Park.
The incident occurred at 11:43 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the park on Longwell Ave., according to the notice of investigation. The bales were owned by Westminster City Government and the estimated loss is $100, according to the notice. Westminster volunteer fire company was the primary responding agency, and it took five firefighters about 10 minutes to put out the fire.
