A traffic-trailer crash backed up traffic for nearly three hours Tuesday morning on U.S. 522 near Hancock. Deputy Chief Ben Hoopengardner of the Hancock Volunteer Fire Co. said the crash happened at about 4 a.m., when icy road conditions caused a tractor-trailer hauling logs to jackknife on the U.S. 522 bridge over the Potomac River. He said no one was injured as a result of the crash. Firefighters were called to clean up a fuel spill. Maryland State Police reported the roadway reopened at about 7:15 a.m.
