United Communities Volunteer Fire Department honored its members for their commitment and celebrated its improved EMS response rate during the annual awards banquet Saturday night, Jan. 13, at the Kent Island Elks Lodge.
United Communities President Ron Siarnicki welcomed everyone and asked for a moment of silence to remember Auxiliary member Lisa Riker, who died in 2018. The banquet was dedicated to Riker and all the departed UCVFD members.
“The United Communities Volunteer Fire Department is fortunate to have a group of people who work tirelessly to keep this department moving forward,” Siarnicki said as he introduced the awards portion of the program.
Auxiliary President Rose Clark thanked her fellow Auxiliary members for their assistance and said she had a token of appreciation for each of them.
