Area organizations and the Bangor Fire Department teamed up Thursday evening to help kids and their families this Christmas season. Families of Bangor firefighters stopped by the Briar Patch in downtown Bangor to help pick out toys and books. Everything they took off the shelves will go straight to Toys for Tots. "We're involved with a lot of needy families throughout the year and it's nice to be able to do something for them not during an emergency and to help their Christmas and help them have a better holiday," said firefighter, Jeremiah Titus. "It just brings so much joy to kids faces," said owner of The Briar Patch, Gibran Graham. "Not everybody has the same means, not everybody is affluent as everybody else, and so being able to support Toys for Tots is really just part of the Christmas magic, to help make that happen."
