A large fire in Ottawa County required local firefighters to call in help from nearby communities to assist in putting out the flames.
Crews were dispatched to a turkey farm around 1:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, near Garfield Street and 76th Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters reported the fire so extensive that many more crews were needed to help put it out.
According to Coopersville Fire Chief Scott Schoolcraft, the Coopersville Fire Department called in nine other stations to help control the blaze including: Allendale, Alpine Township, Casnovia, Ravenna and others.
