Lincoln Township trustees expect to hire the township’s first full-time fire chief after interviewing three finalists during an open meeting Tuesday, Supervisor Dick Stauffer reported. He said the meeting will be at 4 p.m. at the Township Hall along John Beers Road. But at least three firefighters are not happy that the current part-time fire chief, Ron Burkett, is not on the list. Firefighter Chris Malich said Burkett has been fighting for the position to be made full time for the past six years because of the township’s growth. He said Burkett resigned as fire chief before the interview process because he felt he was not being supported by the Township Board.
