Two businesses are temporarily closed after a fire broke out in one of them in the 5500 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on Tuesday morning.
A small fire ignited in the back of Family Market around 4:30 a.m., said Steve Mazurek, public information officer for the Lansing Fire Department. The fire was put out shortly after firefighters arrived on scene but both Family Market and Ultra Tan sustained minor smoke damage, Mazurek said.
Both businesses are temporarily closed. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Mazurek said.
