A stretch of Alma downtown was closed Tuesday morning after a fire broke out in a building there overnight, the Mount Pleasant Morning Sun reports.
The fire was reported shortly before 4 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, at 117 Superior St., the Morning Sun reports. The building houses a barber shop and other businesses.
As of 6:20 a.m., Superior from State Street to Wright Avenue remained closed as firefighters continued to put out the blaze, according to the Morning Sun.
Almost one year ago and two blocks down from the current fire, another blaze burned down two buildings and damaged another in the city's historic district.
