An early morning house fire is being investigated as a possible arson after authorities deemed the scene suspicious.
The fire was reported shortly after 2:30 a.m. Thursday, April 27 in the 7000 block of S. Broadway Street in Idlewild of Yates Township in Lake County.
Emergency crews were dispatched after the homeowners called 911 and reported being awoken to the sound of a crash inside the home, and a fire within the bedroom of their 5-year-old daughter.
The couple who owns the house, as well as their two daughters, made it out uninjured.
On scene, Lake County Sheriff's deputies said they found signs that Molotov cocktails might have been involved in the incident. No arrests have been made.
"From outside it looks decent, but my guess is it's a total loss on the inside," said Sheriff Rich Martin.
