Members of the Lansing Police and Fire Departments handed out presents to kids at Sparrow Hospital Thursday.
They hope to bring some cheer to kids who will be away from home or their loved ones during the holiday season. Lansing Fire Department Captain David Odom said, "We want them to know it's our way of reaching out,, showing we care,, and this right here is something small, it carries a lot of weight and the children."
Lansing Police Department Captain Daryl Green added, "For us it's a morale booster, an opportunity to spend some time with needy kids that just need a smile, it's an energizing event."
