A garage was destroyed and vacant home damaged Thursday evening in Flint. Firefighters responded for a structure fire around 5:45 p.m. Feb. 23 on Dayton Street near Trumbull Drive and discovered a garage next to the home fully engulfed in flames. Crews were able to contain the fire primarily to the garage surrounded by a short chain-link fence, but there was also some damage to eastern facing side of the vacant home. No one was injured during the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
