Detroit firefighters were battling a fire Friday morning at a Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) facility that broke out early Friday morning on the city's east side. The fire has spread to several bays. The facility is located on Shoemaker and St. Jean St. DDOT released this statement: "There was a fire early this morning around 1:30 a.m. at the DDOT Shoemaker Terminal on St. Jean Street on the City's Eastside. At this time we believe that fewer than 10 buses have been affected. While the cause of the fire is under investigation, all routes will be covered but some may experience delays.
