The Flint Fire Department's new recruits started their training Tuesday. The department has made its selection of 38 candidates for the position of firefighter trainee. They have been understaffed so this should be a positive move for both the department and the community they are protecting. The academy starts in the classroom, but will eventually move out onto the course for their hands on training.
