Three new heart monitors will be purchased for the Taylor Fire Department with a recent $24,000 donation from Beaumont personnel. Beaumont Taylor President Lee Ann Odom and Chief Nursing Officer Kristine Donahue were on hand July 18 to present the check to Fire Chief Stephen Portis. The donation will put one monitor in each ambulance the city will have when it reinstates patient transport in coming weeks. The city hasn’t transported patients in nearly six years. HealthLink, which was bought out by Beaumont, has been handling patient transport for most of that time.Mayor Rick Sollars and Fire Chief Steven Portis recently announced the switch back to city ambulances for transport.
