A Reese man, who was previously convicted of embezzlement by his former employer, will do more time on other embezzlement charges, following recent court proceedings. Gerald J. Ellison, 55, was found guilty of embezzling $39,000 from the Reese Fire and Rescue's Memorial Funds, where he served as assistant fire chief and treasurer. He was also the Reese Village president. For the crime, Tuscola County Circuit Judge Amy Grace Gierhart sentenced Ellison to 18 months to 10 years in prison for embezzlement by an agent or trustee — $20,000 or more but less than $50,000; and to 18 months to five years for two counts of embezzlement by an agent or trustee $1,000 or more but less than $20,000.
