The Elmwood Township Fire Department is looking into the possibility of purchasing a rescue boat. The department responded to a call Monday morning on West Grand Traverse Bay reporting that a man was possibly trapped in the water between two boats. While crews got there, it was discovered the man wasn't trapped and was OK. However, he was having trouble securing his boat that had broken free from it's hoist. While this situation turned out alright, the fire department says others can be very serious.
