Residents in Flint may recall spotting a 45-foot-long yellow streak racing through the city's streets on the way to a house fire or accident scene. The 1968 American LaFrance truck hasn't been on a call in a few years, but it found a place in the heart of Flint Fire Department Quartermaster Rico Phillips who purchased the truck in a 2003 city auction after it was decommissioned. It has been in countless parades, the Frankenmuth Fire Muster, a scene in the Will Ferrell movie "Semi-Pro" and many days in the former Fire Station 2 at the corner of Martin Luther King and 4th Avenues near downtown Flint.
