The city’s 27-year-old fire training tower will undergo major renovations this fall.
“The tower has been there for quite a few years and has endured many, many hours of training,” Rochester Hills Fire Department Fire Marshal Bill Cooke said. “It has been a wonderful asset for the Fire Department.”
The training tower is located at Fire Station No. 1, on Horizon Court, off Livernois Road. Cooke said the condition of the tower is poor.
“The masonry is damaged by water, and the door to control smoke is missing — rusted away.”
