Firefighters responded to a garage fire that spread to a home in Putnam Township Thursday afternoon. The fire occurred at a residence in the 11000 block of Kennedy Drive on the north side of Portage Lake. Firefighters were called to the blaze around 3 p.m. Flames could be seen coming from the back of an attached garage. The fire appeared to have spread to the roof line of the single-family home. The fire appeared to be under control about an hour later. Firefighters from Putnam Township Fire, Hamburg Township Fire, Unadilla Fire and Howell Area Fire departments responded to the blaze. It does not appear anyone was injured in the blaze. Fire officials were not immediately available for comment.
