Officials are reminding residents to be careful when burning after nearly two acres caught fire near Thompsonville.
It happened Monday afternoon after wind blew flames from a small burn across the field.
The Buckley Fire Chief said brush fire can be common this time of year.
"Check the DNR website, make sure it's good to burn," said Michael Guernsey, the Buckley Fire Chief. "If you are burning brush, keep it small, maybe burn in the evening when the wind is calm, you're gonna hopefully start having dew here as spring and summer gets here which will help control it."
The fire was under control by the time fire crews arrived.
