At about 7:20 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16, Saginaw Fire Department was dispatched to a fire on South Fayette between Fraser and Dearborn on the city's southwest side.
A single-story house was on fire and about a dozen neighbors gathered to watch firefighters put out the fire.
Three fire engines reported to the scene.
The home was vacant, according to neighbors and Saginaw Fire Battalion Chief Thomas Raines.
Smoke could be seen coming from under the roof of the house.
Raines said the home had no utilities and the fire was being investigated as suspicious.
The investigation will be turned over to the Michigan State Police, Raines said.
