Police say a man and woman were forced to flee their house after one or two explosions occurred Tuesday evening and the dwelling was engulfed by flames.
Thomas Tedder, 75, was in serious condition Wednesday evening in the burn unit at Bronson Methodist Hospital after being transferred there from Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Ind.
His wife Brenda was treated at a hospital for an unrelated medical issue and released.
In a press release, Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke stated that his deputies and firefighters were called at 6:06 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, to the Tedder's residence in the 33000 block of Bertrand Street in Cass County's Milton Township.
