A suspected serial arsonist struck again in Bay County for what police believe is the 10th time in four months.
The latest target was a 2004 white Bonneville parked in front of a home on Finn Road in Hampton Township. The alleged arsonist has been targeting vehicles parked outdoors in Hampton and Portsmouth townships since April 7.
"It's pretty shocking," said Steve Batts, who knows the owners of the home on Finn Road.
Nobody was home when the fire started at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
"The car got hit and I got a phone call just as I was leaving the house, they wanted to see if there was any damage to house," Batts said. "There isn't thankfully."
Investigators say the car fire matches the other nine in the two townships over the past few months. The most recent one was on July 4, when a woman had to be rescued from her Portsmouth Township home after a minivan in the driveway was set on fire and spread to the garage.
