Newly acquired equipment will help firefighters from the Saginaw Fire Department to safely stabilize overturned vehicles during traffic crashes.
On Wednesday, July 18, firefighters were trained to use the new stabilization struts on an overturned vehicle that was placed at the fire department's training site.
Lt. Brandon Hausbeck said the equipment will help secure crash scenes and make them safe while emergency responders work.
"Basically, this is the ideal situation with a car like this on its side," said Lt. Brandon Hausbeck. "We might have to remove a door or something."
