The man who died Tuesday night in a fire in his Escanaba home has been identified. Escanaba Public Safety says 38-year-old Joseph Shea died in the fire at 301 N. 12th St. Witnesses told responding officers that Shea was trapped in the second floor of the home when the fire broke out. The cause of the fire remains undetermined, investigators say. ----- One person is dead after a house fire Tuesday night in Escanaba. According to Escanaba Public Safety, officers were called to 301 N. 12th Street in Escanaba at 10:21 p.m. for a house fire. Responding officers saw fire in the upstairs of the home. Officers were told that there was a man trapped in the area of the fire. Officers entered the home and conducted an interior attack on the fire and put it out. A search of the upstairs discovered a deceased man in his late 30s. His name has not been released. Officers say the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
