No one was injured Wednesday when a Benton Township fire truck collided with a car on the way to a smoke investigation.
“When Berrien County tones us out for a possible structure fire at a multi-residential complex, with lots of smoke in the hallway, there’s a little bit of urgency,” Benton Township Fire Department Lt. Scott Allers said.
It turns out that a tenant had left a pan on a stove in an apartment at Village at Fairplain, 777 E. Napier Ave., and there was heavy smoke but no fire.
