It took firefighters about two hours to get a house fire in Kalamazoo under control Tuesday evening. The fire in the 900 block of Princeton Avenue, between N. Westnedge Avenue and Park Street, was reported around 6:40 p.m. The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says crews arrived to find flames coming out of the front of one home and spreading to a condemned house next door. The people in the occupied house escaped safely and no one was hurt. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
