Royal Oak firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire that broke out in an attached garage, causing the evacuation of the house and the rescue of two cats. The fire was reported about 7 p.m. Wednesday in the 1900 block of East Lincoln, east of Campbell Road. “When (firefighters) arrived there were flames coming through the roof,” said Jim Cook, assistant fire chief. “The fire in the garage spread into the attic and smoke went into the house.” A woman who owns the house told fire investigators that she noticed the fire about 90 minutes after she got home and parked her 2013 Chevrolet in the garage.’
