Holland Township firefighters quickly contained a fire at Nelis’ Dutch Village’s movie theater on Friday, May 25. The fire started shortly before 9:30 a.m. in the attic of the movie theater. Holland Township Fire Chief Jim Kohsel said on scene the cause of the fire is not known. Kohsel said the fire was extinguished in less than 10 minutes after firefighters arrived. All three Holland Township stations responded. The building was self-evacuated before firefighters arrived, and no injuries have been reported. The section of James Street which runs by the entrance to Dutch Village was closed to traffic while firefighters cleaned up.
