Two firefighters were injured when rescuing three people trapped on the second floor of a burning house in Muskegon Friday morning.
It happened around 1 a.m. in the 1600 block of Glade Street, north of Forest Avenue.
Muskegon Assistant Fire Chief Gordon Cole said when authorities arrived on scene, they found three residents hanging from two upstairs windows of the burning house.
All three residents were rescued and taken to the hospital where they are listed in stable condition, Cole said. He also added that working smoke detectors woke up the residents, saving their lives.
The assistant fire chief said two firefighters were also injured and taken to the hospital in stable condition. One firefighter was injured after a resident jumped out a second-floor window, knocking the firefighter off a ladder.
