A Calumet couple is in need of assistance after their house caught fire Saturday evening. According to the Calumet Township Fire Chief Pat Boberg, the call came in around 7:30 p.m. Saturday for a home on US-41. Boberg says the home was a duplex that had been converted into a single family home. He says the north side of the home was the most heavily damaged, and the south side of the home mainly had water damage. The fire was extinguished by 11 p.m. Boberg says there were no injuries. No cause is known at this time. According to the First Baptist Church Facebook page, the couple living in the home, Ed and Donna Parsons, who are members of the church, is in need of assistance. A corresponding GoFundMe page says they are in need of personal items and food. The church is collecting any donations or food for the Parsons, as they have nowhere to store it.
