A structure fire investigation resulted in the arrest of man accused of assault.
Emergency crews were called to a fire at the Camden Kade Rental Units on North US-31 in Alanson around 3:14 p.m. Sunday.
When Emmet County sheriff's deputies arrived on scene, one of the rental units was fully engulfed in flames.
According to Sheriff Pete Wallin, all of the residents of the unit made it out safely but two dogs were still inside.
Deputies were able to break out a window to save one of the dogs and firefighters found the other dog under a couch and brought it outside.
During an investigation, deputies were able determine a Robert Jakeway, 54 of Alanson, set fire to his residence and assaulted a person before setting the residence on fire.
On Monday, a four count felony warrant was issued for Jakeway.
Jakeway was arrested on charges of second degree arson, arson-preparation to burn a dwelling, assault with a dangerous weapon and felony firearms.
