A crew from the Rochester Hills Fire Department was called to a parking lot in the 3900 block of Hamlin on Wednesday afternoon to find a vehicle fully-engulfed in flames, and extinguished the fire in a short period of time, according to John Lyman, the department’s fire and safety educator. Firefighters were dispatched at 12:35 p.m., Lyman said. Their efforts also included using the Jaws of Life to open the vehicle’s hood to access the engine department to douse remaining flames.
No word yet on the cause of the fire, which is being investigated by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
No injuries were reported.
