A Sparta man, 55-year-old Douglas Vankoevering, died after suffering a medical event while driving on 16th Avenue just south of Garfield Street in Wright Township.
The crash, at 7 a.m., sent his car off the road and into a tree and a rollover, which pinned him in the car, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Christie Wendt.
Wright /Tallmadge Walker, and Allendale firefighters responded to the scene, as did Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies and AeroMed.
Mr. Vankoevering went to Spectrum Health Butterworth for treatment, but died a short time later.
