CenterPoint Energy crews have stopped a gas leak that occurred in south Minneapolis Wednesday afternoon, according to the Minneapolis Fire Department. The department says a gas main was hit at the intersection of Diamond Lake Road and Wentworth Avenue. Diamond Lake Road has been evacuated from Nicollet Avenue to Lyndale Avenue South. A KSTP reporter on scene said people were able to return to their homes and businesses at about 6 p.m. CenterPoint said a crew was working to lay fiber optics lines and caused the leak.
