As the snow melts and grass dries out, Minnesota is entering grassfire season.
On Tuesday, firefighters fought a grass fire along Highway 4 near Nisswa. The fire burned 15 to 20 acres.
According to the DNR, last week, 81 fires burned nearly 3,000 acres in Minnesota.
To be prepared, DNR offices are fully staffed across the state.
The DNR said the major problem is that because of snow melt, dead grass is now exposed.
North Central Minnesota is the region most at risk for grassfires at this time, according to the DNR.
