In the spirit of giving, firefighters with the Duluth Fire Department empty out their pockets, to help make sure a Northland kid gets a happy Christmas.
It starts just like many other fundraisers, going to all the fire stations, asking for donations. This year, the collecting was left up to the Local 101 Union.
"We started out by going to each station and talking to all the firefighters, collecting money from them," says Captain, Edward Schumacher. "And this year, they're wonderful enough to have raised $6,182 worth of toys."
