Friends and neighbors have identified the person injured Tuesday afternoon during a garage explosion as 21-year-old Mason Zacharias.
He lives at the home with his father on the 13000 block of Dellwood Way in Rosemount.
According to police, the blast occurred about 12:30 p.m. Zacharias was the only person home at the time. His longtime friend and neighbor Colin Larson said it shook his entire house. Larson stepped outside to see what was going on and noticed Zacharias' garage had been blown up and out.
"I actually heard Mason from down here, he yelled someone come help me in the garage, I am injured and we all booked it," he said.
Several other neighbors joined Larson and ran to do what they could to free Zacharias. They said he was conscious, bleeding badly and trapped by the cascade of metal and crumbling debris.
