Crews were at the scene of a fire in Mendota Heights early Friday morning. Firefighters responded to the scene at the Mendakota Country Club after receiving a call about the fire at 4:30 a.m. The Minnesota Fire Marshal is working to determine what caused the fire. The Mendota Heights assistant fire chief reported the fire started in a building next to the clubhouse that was being used for storage. The fire then spread to the clubhouse. Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames in time to save the main clubhouse building, however, they reported some damage. Authorities said the building being used for storage is a total loss.
