Part of Hwy. 19 in Northfield was closed for a short period Wednesday morning as local firefighters dealt with an incident at Post Consumer Brands. According to Northfield Area Fire and Rescue Service Chief Gerry Franek, an equipment fire in one of the Post buildings caused minimal damage. He said the fire started in the area of the building where grain is puffed, which involves high heat and has caused fires in the past. By the time emergency personnel arrived shortly after 7:30 a.m., Post maintenance workers had already dealt with most of the flames.
