A man who was assaulted outside of a bar and grill has died from his injuries. Steven "Beaver" Hlinsky, 46, a long-time Forada firefighter, died Sunday afternoon, May 13, at his home, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, which received a 911 call from the Hlinsky residence. Hlinsky, who was unresponsive when first responders arrived, was pronounced and an autopsy has been ordered, according to the Sheriff's Office. Early May 5, deputies found Hlinsky on the sidewalk outside the Muddy Boot Bar and Grill, where he was bleeding from his nose and ear. He also wasn't breathing well, the Sheriff's Office said. He was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital and spent several days in the intensive care unit. Hlinsky was released May 11. Douglas County Sheriff Troy Wolbersen said the case is being investigated, and deputies are interviewing people who were at the Muddy Boot at the time of the reported assault.
