Three people were expected to be OK after an early-morning house fire in Northeast Minneapolis. According to authorities, the fire occurred at a residence in the area of 22nd Avenue and Roosevelt Street at about 4 a.m. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the living room, dining room and kitchen on the first floor as they worked to extinguish it. The three occupants were checked for smoke inhalation and were deemed OK. Two cats were transported to a nearby animal hospital, according to authorities. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
