A shop was totally destroyed in a fire Sunday evening in Callaway. Emergency crews responded to a call at approximately 5 p.m. when someone reported seeing smoke and flames on a neighbor's property on the 29000 block of 272nd Avenue. No one was hurt in the incident, but Callaway Fire Chief Keith Heinlein says the structure did take quite a hit. "The walls were burnt to the ground...and the roof was completely caved in," he said, adding that multiple agencies were on the scene fighting the flames for about three hours. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
