On Wednesday, metro area firefighters are hoping to collect donations to put toward stomping out a variety of debilitating illnesses.
The annual "Fill the Boot" campaign takes place Wednesday, in an effort to raise money to help those affected by muscular dystrophy, ALS and other related illnesses.
Firefighters will be moving throughout the metro, collecting donations in their boots.
Last year, the Minneapolis Fire Department raised more than $78,000 in three days.
Firefighter Mark Lakosky, with the Minneapolis Fire Local 82 station, talked about the drive and where firefighters will be collecting donations.
