A family is dealing with the aftermath of a huge barn fire on Saturday morning. Clear Lake firefighters say they responded to a call of a fire on Saturday, just north of the city, past the municipal airport.
Homeowners said they tried to control the fire before crews arrived but did not succeed. Once on the scene, firefighters said they saw the barn was fully engulfed. So, they focused on protecting nearby structures. They said they were able to knock out the fire in a couple of hours.
The barn is a total loss, while a home, two grain silos, and a workshop sustained heat damage.
Firefighters say no one was injured in this incident.
