VIDEO: Perry County Emergency Management will be releasing a new emergency response system at the end of May. The EMA will be using app Hyper-Reach to alert people when there’s events like severe weather or criminal activity, all through text, call or email. “You will get a text notification on your phone saying that it’s active, and every time we push an alert out, it’ll come across the same way alerts do for tornado warnings and things of that sort,” said Perry County EMA Director Chad Dewitt. Another program called ‘I Am Responding’ will help first responders keep track of their location and send out backup straight from their phones.
